Podcast Intern with Finding Out with Pete and the Poet Gold

This opportunity is available during the Spring 2022 semester. This opportunity can be conducted virtually and is only available for CEL credit.

BGW ArtC, LLC (soon to become Poet Gold & Co.) is a creative arts company with a focus to deliver media content and programming, as well as offer a bouquet of artists’ services and product/merchandise development support for our current artist and projects e.g. Poet Gold, Finding Out with Pete & The Poet Gold, PoughETRY Fest, and PoughETRY Fest TV.

Position Description:

Students will engage in online outreach and promotion, contribute to content development on social media, be available to video the show at iHeart, and offer administrative support e.g., contacting and following up with guests scheduled to be on the podcast. Interns will have the opportunity to take their media practices and apply them in real-world settings. We work to foster a collaborative and creative environment, which is diverse and inclusive.

Desired Skills:

  • An interest/foundation in the business of the performance arts, literary arts, and the visual arts
  • Basic knowledge in some of these areas: Canva (or similar graphic platform), Illustrator, Premiere Pro, social media, social media marketing, publishing, graphic arts, newsletter development, videography, or photography.
  • The student should have the skill to engage an audience on various social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok – comment, like, announcements, create content for highly engaging stories).
  • Strong organizational skills and possess administrative skills with a knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.

Hours:

  • Flexible. Monday (Anytime between 10 Am to 6 Pm), Tuesday (in person at iHeart 2 Pm – 4 Pm), Wed/Thurs/Fri (Predominately Virtual with the exception of PoughETRY Fest, which is a Saturday in-person event and online)
  • To get a better pulse of the local community, our interns should attend a few suggested community events.
