Marketing Position with Hudson Valley Farm and Flea

This opportunity is available during Summer 2022 and is only available for CEL credit. This is an in-person CEL.

Hudson Valley Farm and Flea promises to be the premiere regional event to spotlight Hudson Valley’s finest makers, artisans, designers, and vintage collectors. Added to this unique mix are locally crafted food, and performers, all in one location at the Museum Village in Monroe. This event will create a place where people can come to enjoy local products and be immersed in a total Hudson Valley lifestyle experience.

We are looking for students who are passionate about all aspects of social media and who also love “live” events. Our plan in 2022 is to expand this event to bigger venues across the Hudson Valley. This opportunity will be expanding to include additional social media platforms YouTube, Instagram stories and possibly Tik-Tok. We will be sharing our knowledge of brand development for Farm and Flea, as well as helping us discover new and upcoming brands that would be vendors at our event.

In 2014, designer/entrepreneur Laurie Perrone, who has over 30 years of experience in fashion design and development, began to look for a location in the Hudson Valley community to showcase her company’s fashion collection. As founder and creative director of Farm2Fashion and a longtime Hudson Valley resident, Laurie knew that there were lots of local craft fairs and events but nothing in Orange County, that would support Farm2Fashion’s mission to bring together on a larger scale the many independent local farmers, craftsmen and designers who were also making their goods right here in America. Determined to pull these forces together to make a difference in the “Made in America” rebirth, Laurie was inspired to reach out to the many local makers and artisans who were working hand in hand with local and regional farmers, designers and manufacturers to bring American made products to a wider market.

Location: various locations throughout the Hudson Valley

Desired Skills: 

  • Strong writing ability, a passion for creating imaginative content and marketing strategies.
  • Great people skills to communicate with artisans including makers, musicians, chefs and farmers.

Additional Requirements: Much of this position will be conducted in-person and requires a car for the student to drive to different event locations.
