Intern with Senator Sue Serino’s District Office – 41st Senate District

This opportunity is available during the Fall 2022 semester. This is an in person position.

Internship Overview
As an intern in Senator Sue Serino’s District office 41st Senate District, I am expected to:
• Be punctual, diligent, proactive, and curious
• Field all incoming calls and subsequently log all calls
• Assist District Coordinator with district calendar
• Attend events and sit-in on meetings with Senator Serino and Director of District operations. Submit reports following each event/meeting
• Attend Staff meetings
• Maintain the district office’s databases and prepare reports as needed

Projects for the duration of my internship include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Aid in community engagement programs in conjunction with the Senator’s Events Coordinator and Communications Director
2. Shadow a Legislative Analyst and Policy Analyst throughout the semester to allow me a true insight into New York’s political mechanisms.

Hours: Students can register for either 0.5 unit or 1.0 unit of credit ( min. 40 hrs with org over the semester for + 30 hrs of academic work OR min. 80 hr over the semester with org  + 60 hours of academic work)
