DESCRIPTION:Talisman: The World of Magic \nThe exhibition explores the world of magic and dreams where boundaries between illusion and reality are fading into each other. \nWe want the visitor to escape reality and enter a space where class\, race\, gender\, and power politics are transcended\, and we are instead nurtured by the supernatural elements present in all cultures across distance and time. \nBecause from time-to-time we all need some form of talismanic protection. \nAs individuals\, but even as a collective\, as a community\, as a world aflame we need something greater than ourselves to protect us; perhaps from ourselves. The artwork presented in the exhibition wants to surprise the visitor\, wants to influence the sense of reality\, and transform moments of our lives into something magical and whimsical. \nParticipating artists: \nJennifer Axinn-Weiss\, Paola Bari\, Mary Ann Glass\, Jennifer Prevatt\, Andres San Millan\, Lisa Winika. \nOpening Reception: \nSaturday\, March 15\, 2025 5-7 pm \nThis project is made possible with funds from the New York State Legislature and administered by Arts Mid-Hudson.

SUMMARY:WomensWork.Art "Mother/Father" Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:In March 2020\, WomensWork.Art put on a group exhibition called ‘Mother/Father’\, which explored the works of Artists navigating Parenthood and how it affected their overall bodies of work. The show only stayed open for two weeks before the COVID-19 Pandemic shut down the gallery and the show altogether. Shutting down this show was a huge loss for the Artists\, whose works about parenthood were not seen by the public due to the Pandemic. \nNow five years later\, they are re-examining this theme and how the circumstances of Artists has evolved over that time\, and how modern parenthood has evolved with it. \nExhibition Dates: March 7-April 26\, 2025 \nOpening Reception: Friday\, March 7th\, 5-7pm \nArtists’ Talk: Saturday\, April 26th\, 1-3pm

DESCRIPTION:Bardavon Presents our 24/25 film series\, PREMIER PERFORMANCES. This year’s film choices focus on legendary stars of stage and screen in some of their most memorable roles. In addition to the screenings being free of charge\, all nine films in the series are preceded by a Happy Hour\, featuring half-price beer and wine\, as well as free snacks and soda. For all films\, Happy Hour starts at 6:30\, followed by each screening at 7:30. A single braid in her hair along with her taglines “Brliing” and “I literally made the beat” are her recognizable trademarks- along with her vibrant yet calming aura. She is also a recovery coach for those struggling with SUD and mental illness. After many years battling with depression\, loss\, heartbreak\, and addiction\, she lives on to give others hope by telling her story of overcoming through music and art while radiating positive energy and authenticity.
