SUMMARY:PFP Volunteer Meet Up
DESCRIPTION:The first Saturday volunteer shift is this month! Mark June 27th from 9 AM to 12 PM in your calendar and head to this link to let us know you’ll be coming. \nEvery week PFP offers multiple opportunities to get your hands dirty – no experience necessary! Come to the gardens and the fields to spend time with plants and fellow plant enthusiasts. Staff will offer guidance in tasks ranging from weeding and washing to pruning and harvesting. \n Work and Learn Shifts in the Herbal Garden\, every other Thursday\, 4:00 – 6:00 PM: Join the Education team at PFP’s vibrant herb and seed gardens. Come get your hands in the soil\, learn about the plants and the vital creatures they support\, and deepen your connection to the land—one Thursday at a time. No experience needed\, just curiosity and care!  \n Farm Fieldwork Shifts\, Wednesdays and Fridays\, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Help out in the field. with additional days scheduled throughout the year— dates TBA. Opportunities on the farm are fitted to individual needs and interests as much as possible! \n Donation Delivery Runs\, multiple slots per week: Join the squad that moves hundreds of pounds of veggies a week to local pantries and kitchens during the growing season. You can sign up for one delivery at a time – no commitment needed! – up to one week in advance of the run. Cars of all sizes are welcome! This volunteer opportunity is coordinated through an iPhone app called ChowMatch. Reach out with any questions about signup and setup! \nClick below for more details. DESCRIPTION:This summer\, five spectacular family-friendly movies will be shown on the big screen beneath the Walkway Over the Hudson at the Upper Landing Park in Poughkeepsie in 2026. All Movies Under the Walkway events are free to attend! \nThe screening dates and films are: \nJune 27 —Disney’s ZOOTOPIA 2\nJuly 11 —Disney’s Live Action LILO 7 STITCH\nJuly 18 —HOPPERS\nJuly 25 — Apple TVs F1\nAugust 1—MARIO BROTHERS GALAXY MOVIE \nDoors open at 7:30 p.m.\, followed by the feature film at sundown (approximately 8:30 p.m.) These events are held under the stars at Upper Landing Park (83 North Water Street\, Poughkeepsie\, NY\, 12601) Shows are sunshine only. Bring blankets and chairs. \nThe Millman Harris Romano Foundation\, Dutchess County Parks\, Poughkeepsie Public Library and Friends of the Walkway are the presenting partners for the film series.
