Development Intern for Arts Mid-Hudson

Arts Mid-Hudson, the preeminent nonprofit arts service organization serving Dutchess, Ulster, and Orange Counties invites you to join their team! Arts Mid-Hudson’s initiatives engage and promote the arts across the Mid-Hudson region, benefiting our artists, arts organizations and communities.

Arts Mid-Hudson is looking for an energetic development intern to join their team and provide support and insight to help achieve their goals. Students will have administrative duties in developing and implementing strategies to
enhance donor relations .

Position Description: The Development Intern will assist with database clean up and management, assist with the creation of development materials, provide support for the launch of the membership campaigns, and
help promote all Arts Mid-Hudson’s events, workshops, and community collaborations. This internship will help students acquire development skills and provide you with knowledge of various fundraising and donor related strategies. Ultimately, students will gain broad experience in development
and should be prepared to enter any fast paced work environment.


  • Assist with the donor acknowledgement process
  • Assist with data entry into DonorPerfect
  • Research corporate sponsorship opportunities for the major upcoming events
  • Help prepare materials for the solicitation
  • Assist with the mailing of the solicitations
  • Research matching gift opportunities for existing donors.
  • Draft donor communications
  • Assist in planning and execution of major fundraising events and activities
  • Assist with communication with individual and corporate donors
  • Research grant prospects using foundation database
  • Organize grant and donor files and documents


  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong internet skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, experience with DonorPerfect and Adobe Creative Suite a plus, but not required
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects

Hours: Students can register for either 0.5 unit or 1.0 unit of credit ( min. 40 hours over the semester for 0.5 unit + 30 hrs of academic work or min. 80 hours over the semester for 1.0 unit + 60 hours of academic work)
