Position Description:

CEEP is seeking a CEL student to assist in ongoing outreach efforts within the City of Beacon. Over the course of this 3-4 month project, the student will conduct research in order to create an “Asset Map” that demonstrates Beacon’s relevant stakeholders and the resources within the community which could be involved in community planning and engagement efforts. The goal of this project is to provide the City of Beacon with an enhanced understanding of the current landscape as it relates to community goals, including climate strategies, and engagement-focused solutions. Guiding questions include: Who are the necessary groups that need to be involved in outreach efforts? What sorts of networks are currently in place, and what needs to be created? The Fellow may be asked to assist with developing and deploying surveys and other data collection tools to receive feedback from members of the community. The final product of this work will be a brief report outlining the intern’s findings and recommendations.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong research and communication skills
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Interest in the environmental field and local climate solutions
