{"id":976,"date":"2013-05-13T11:56:11","date_gmt":"2013-05-13T15:56:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/musicalurbanism\/?p=976"},"modified":"2013-05-13T11:56:11","modified_gmt":"2013-05-13T15:56:11","slug":"recent-publications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/musicalurbanism\/2013\/05\/13\/recent-publications\/","title":{"rendered":"recent publications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some writings that first appeared on this blog have been published recently.<\/p>\n<p>First, the latest print issue of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/burningambulance.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Burning Ambulance<\/a><\/em> comes out today with my essay on Tito Larriva (from the Plugz, Cruzados, Tito &amp; Tarantula, and Robert Rodriguez&#8217;s Mexican exploitation films) in it.\u00a0 <em>Burning Ambulance<\/em> specializes in extended pieces covering musical artists &#8220;who deserve wider attention than conventional publications would give them.&#8221;\u00a0 The latest issue includes interviews with performers from avant-jazz (Arve Henriksen, Ivo Perelman, Dead Neanderthals), the artier end of the extreme metal spectrum (Spektr, Yoshiko Ohara\/Bloody Panda), and almost uncategorizable, electronic-based new music (Reto M\u00e4der, Robert Hampson\/Loop\/Main).
