What is a makerspace/digital studio?Your current concept of the term “makerspace” can be best described as:* Somewhere with workbenches and machining tools, soldering stations, etc where I can build stuff. Somewhere I can go to plan a project, probably with the goal of ultimately building something. Somewhere where I can work with plug ‘n’ play, or possibly more advanced electronics. Some combination of A, B, and/or C. That’s where people build robots, right? I don’t know. Your current concept of the term “digital studio” can best be described as:* How is this not the Sci Vis Lab or the Digital Media Zone? Somewhere where I can access specialized software like Adobe Cloud, Maya, Unity 3D, and other computer tools for art related work. A studio for digital music production. Somewhere where I can do computer modeling for physics, architecture, digital sculpture; I’ll either be making a model that stays in the computer as part of a simulation, gets fabricated, or is incorporated into a game.
