Laser guide stars are lasers which provide an adequately bright reference in the sky which <em><a title=\"Adaptive Optics\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Adaptive_optics\" target=\"_blank\">adaptive optics systems<\/a><\/em>, such as the Keck Observatory, can use to change its mirror shape in order to correct for <a title=\"Astronomical Seeing\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Astronomical_seeing\" target=\"_blank\">atmospheric disturbances of light<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/MMT_Observatory\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"   \" src=\"http:\/\/spie.org\/Images\/Graphics\/Newsroom\/Imported\/1570\/1570_fig1.jpg\" alt=\"LGS in use at the MMT Obsersvatory\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">http:\/\/spie.org\/Images\/Graphics\/Newsroom\/Imported\/1570\/1570_fig1.jpg<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\n<dl>\n<dt><\/dt>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<p>We will explore this relationship in the form of a <em>love ballad <\/em>or<em> poem<\/em>.
