{"id":62,"date":"2011-02-06T14:48:21","date_gmt":"2011-02-06T18:48:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.vassar.edu\/ltt\/"},"modified":"2011-04-03T01:55:14","modified_gmt":"2011-04-03T05:55:14","slug":"how-to-post","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/ltt\/?page_id=62","title":{"rendered":"How To Post"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To post any sort of document or other material for your project onto your blog, follow these simple steps to do whichever task you want to complete:<\/p>\n<p>To Enter a New Post:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>click the first link under &#8220;Meta&#8221; on the homepage to go to the Dashboard<\/li>\n<li>under the &#8220;Posts&#8221; dropbox on the left, select &#8220;Add New&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>enter the title and text of the document you want to post<\/li>\n<li>select your group # on the right, under the box titled &#8220;Categories&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>scroll down and check the boxes to allow comments and trackbacks<\/li>\n<li>near the bottom, select your username as the author of the post<\/li>\n<li>on the right, you can add tags &#8211; relevant words to your post &#8211; that will appear on the homepage and will link to your post and other posts with the same tag<\/li>\n<li>click &#8220;Publish,&#8221; and your post will appear under your group&#8217;s category<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To Insert a Link:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>click &#8220;Edit&#8221; on the desired post<\/li>\n<li>in the textbox, highlight the word or phrase that you want to set as the link to your document, picture, video, website, etc.<\/li>\n<li>click the &#8220;Insert\/Edit Link&#8221; button<\/li>\n<li>select the settings for your link<\/li>\n<li>click &#8220;Insert,&#8221; and then click &#8220;Update&#8221; if you are editing an already existing post; if it is a new post, click &#8220;Publish&#8221; once you finish the instructions for submitting a post<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To Add a Picture:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>save the desired picture to a folder or the desktop on your computer<\/li>\n<li>click &#8220;Edit&#8221; on the desired post<\/li>\n<li>click the location in the textbox where you want your picture to appear<\/li>\n<li>click the &#8220;Add Image&#8221; button next to where it says &#8220;Upload\/Insert&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>upload your picture, give it a title, a caption, alignment, size, etc.<\/li>\n<li>click &#8220;Insert into Post&#8221; and then click &#8220;Update&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>**Note: avoid manually moving the picture inside of the textbox; just redo the process from the beginning to get it right<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To Add a Video:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>copy the URL of the desired video (using &#8220;Ctrl&#8221;+&#8221;C&#8221;)<\/li>\n<li>click &#8220;Edit&#8221; on the desired post<\/li>\n<li>click the button near the textbox that says &#8220;YouTube&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>paste the URL of your video into the appropriate space (using &#8220;Ctrl&#8221;+&#8221;V&#8221;)<\/li>\n<li>click to insert your video into the selected post<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>***More Important Notes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be sure to click &#8220;Update&#8221;
