Welcome to the Touchon Lab!<\/span><\/h1>\n

I am a Professor of Biology at Vassar College.\u00a0\u00a0My research focuses primarily on understanding the causes and consequences of phenotypic plasticity. For example, I study the role of phenotypic plasticity in modifying aquatic food-web ecology and predator-prey interactions. I study the responses of tadpoles when they are developing defensive phenotypes in response to predators. I also study the genomic and transcriptomic basis of plasticity. I study the evolution of terrestrial reproduction in a group of Central and South American treefrogs in the genus Dendropsophus<\/em>. Lastly, here locally in New York, I also study the effects of water mold and other aquatic pathogens on the development of embryos of spring breeding amphibians.
