We asked our friends and faculty for recommendations of places and locations worth a visit and encourage you to save these for the next adventure with friends or even a solo-date &#x1f9ed;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dia:Beacon:<\/strong> If you&#8217;re interested in contemporary art, make sure to visit Dia:Beacon, one of the biggest museums of modern sculptures in the world located in Beacon, just a 30 minute drive from Poughkeepsie. It features large-scale installations and exhibitions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/ISr6qj35EVBGfeOjGelem514zHdoAHFwnqBR_Weu_ICJnjXxyMWR-C5yBvPPA7y1v_c2VzeLx9L31LwxRlNO2-XVt0N3SPN11Og1v0-Qd8rOhjQJAqUtAWHA9RmiHLMYS4rGCDi_yT-r4KiDISuQTIg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>Storm King Art Center:<\/strong> While a bit further away (in New Windsor), Storm King Art Center is worth a visit. It is an outdoor sculpture park featuring large-scale contemporary artworks set amidst 500 acres of rolling hills and fields.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/_LEWkK6ny_xY7BykuLEVqkVIellppJqSF1FIQqx7ZQSmZnzEvhtNFpXY68L6fLLICa2jCFnFIb2WL_LKbx9Zeo2AT9zY_t18nnR_v2XcJS4URlDMr-pWoSpGfc4f1MSkoRv5xh6lG0J8uw8nRcQjyRM\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>FDR Presidential Library and Museum:<\/strong> Visit the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum, located in nearby Hyde Park. Here are a few tips on getting around the area:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Beacon is just a few stops away from the Poughkeepsie railway station (5ish USD, off-peak)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Most of the public busesbusses around Poughkeepsie are free to use if you show your Vassar ID.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>G-Bus is also free to use<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Yousra can supply some extra free Beacon bus tickets &#x1f92b;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Have questions or want more tips?
