I\u2019m on an exchange programme, so I\u2019m spending the Spring semester here in Vassar College. I\u2019ve spent my whole life in Singapore, which is blessed (?) with 90-degree weather and 85% humidity all year round. It\u2019s taken me quite some time to get used to the weather here, but I must say I\u2019m starting to enjoy the cool temperatures here.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m a history major with a minor in Literature, which has been a nightmare in\u00a0\u00a0 terms of readings. Strangely enough, I\u2019m only taking one history class in Vassar, with the other classes being either in Religion or Art History.<\/p>\n<p>Military service is compulsory in Singapore, so right after high school I spent about 2 months in Basic Training, another 3 months in Military Police Training, before getting a hold of this \u2018lil girl! Her name is Lottie, and I spent about 10 months training her as a sniffer dog. She\u2019s really cute and friendly; it\u2019s a shame I can\u2019t go back to visit her due to security reasons.<a data-postid=\"fsg_post_1508\" data-imgid=\"1510\" href=\"http:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/international-services\/files\/2020\/02\/nick-dog.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1510\" src=\"http:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/international-services\/files\/2020\/02\/nick-dog.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/international-services\/files\/2020\/02\/nick-dog.jpg 640w, https:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/international-services\/files\/2020\/02\/nick-dog-290x290.jpg 290w, https:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/international-services\/files\/2020\/02\/nick-dog-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/international-services\/files\/2020\/02\/nick-dog-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Most of my weekends in Singapore are spent in church, so I\u2019m looking forward to getting rooted to a church nearby and getting to know some of the folks from the Christian fellowship on campus. I also love playing the guitar, browsing through guitar gear, and making financially irresponsible decisions regarding the aforementioned products.<\/p>\n<p>Looking forward to writing more on this space!
