Let\u2019s welcome Robyn<\/span>, Vassar 2018\u2019!!!!<\/span><\/p>\n

Hey Robyn, what\u2019s your name??<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

– <\/span>Robyn Winona Lin<\/span>. My dad chose my first name and my mom choose my middle name. She named me after actress Winona Ryder, before she stole from a Saks store in LA. My parents also showed me the store she stole from during a college tour in grade 11 of high school.<\/span><\/p>\n

Where are you from? Your nationality, hometown etc.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

-Nationality: <\/span>Hong Kong & Canada \u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Hometown: <\/span>Toronto, Canada<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve never really had an identity crisis over my ethnicity & nationality; the greatest type of \u201cshock\u201d to my identity, has been navigating it while on Vassar\u2019s campus.<\/span><\/p>\n

Have you figured out your major\uff1f<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

-I plan on majoring in<\/span> International Studies<\/span> with a concentration in<\/span> political science<\/span> and <\/span>women\u2019s studies<\/span>. After Vassar, I plan to attend law school or some sort of graduate school.<\/span><\/p>\n

Any fun fact about your campus commitment?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

-I\u2019m an <\/span>intern for the Office of International Services<\/span><\/span> as well as the<\/span> treasurer for Asian Students\u2019 Alliance<\/span><\/span>! Fun fact: ASA has a major event called <\/span>Night Market<\/span> happening on November 7th! ALANA and VSA orgs sell yummy food in the College Centre. #shameless promotion <\/span><\/p>\n

One of the moments you feel very homesick.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

-I usually feel <\/span>homesick<\/span> the most when I have a lot of <\/span>homework<\/span> or the <\/span>Deece<\/span> particularly sucks<\/span>, or when I have to go all the way to NYC just to be in a metropolitan<\/span> area once again.<\/span><\/p>\n

The biggest difference between US and your hometown.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

-The <\/span>politics<\/span>. Also the lack of<\/span> All Dressed flavored chips<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

What or who gives you the sense of belonging at Vassar? <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

-The <\/span>International community<\/span> as well as the <\/span>Asian Students\u2019 Alliance<\/span> have made me feel like I belong at Vassar.<\/span><\/p>\n

When did you get bored of Deece? One food you miss the most from your country.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

-The moment I realized how amazing the Deece is, I got bored of the Deece. So from D<\/span><\/span>ay 1<\/span>. I miss authentic <\/span>Chinese food + poutine<\/span> the most from home.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
