ENST/CHEM/ESCI 254: Environmental Sciences in the Field
A Study of Fire and Ice – Iceland
Application for Admission Consideration
ENST/CHEM/ESCI 254 includes a mandatory field trip to Iceland at the end of spring semester. Because students’ expenses are covered by the Environmental Research Institute, enrollment is limited, and we have instituted a competitive application process. We are interested in putting together a diverse group of students (reminder that seniors are ineligible) who can bring a variety of academic perspectives to our studies, so if you’re truly interested in the course, please apply regardless of what you think your qualifications are. Please complete the Google Form below by Friday, October 13. We will get back to you by Monday, Nov. 6, the first day of pre-registration, to let you know whether you have been admitted to the class or not.
Field trip costs will be covered by the Environmental Studies Program, but students admitted to the course will be required to submit a $200 refundable deposit for emergencies and to cover last-minute cancellations. It should be given to Darcy Gordineer, the Environmental Studies administrative assistant, by January 31, 2024.
