{"id":54,"date":"2009-11-02T16:02:30","date_gmt":"2009-11-02T20:02:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.vassar.edu\/haitiproject\/?p=54"},"modified":"2009-11-02T16:05:09","modified_gmt":"2009-11-02T20:05:09","slug":"family-fun-with-the-vhp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/haitiproject\/2009\/11\/family-fun-with-the-vhp\/","title":{"rendered":"Family Fun with the VHP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday the 24th, Andrew and Lila invited VHP members to their home<br \/>\nfor a grand meal and night of group bonding.<\/p>\n<p>I along with Livia and Charlene (one of our great new freshmen ) got<br \/>\nthere a little early to start helping Lila and Kristen prepare the<br \/>\ngrand meal they had planned for us. Soon more people arrived to help,<br \/>\nand then more &#8230; until the kitchen was packed to capacity. Everyone<br \/>\nhad their own little job that they were responsible for! And put<br \/>\ntogether all that effort by all those people and you get a beautiful<br \/>\nspread of delicious food &#8211; there was hummus, guacamole, taboul\u00e9,<br \/>\nempanadas, pesto pasta, lemon chicken and lubiy\u00e9. And if you&#8217;ve been<br \/>\nreading this you&#8217;re probably getting hungry! Wait, how could I forget<br \/>\nto mention the yummy pies and brownies for desserts!<\/p>\n<p>Doesn&#8217;t this sound like the art sale that magically comes together with EVERYONE&#8217;S help?<\/p>\n<p>Then we all sat together around the living room until we were too<br \/>\nstuffed to move and the night ended with a round of charades.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you so much to everyone who came and helped and most of all to<br \/>\nLila, Andrew, Kristen and Lily for welcoming us all into their home!<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211;Written by Janeen Madan<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday the 24th, Andrew and Lila invited VHP members to their home for a grand meal and night of group bonding.
