These applications offer new opportunities to publicize and share spatial data. Building on skills learned in GEOG 220 (Cartography) and GEOG 224 (GIS), students in GEOG 228 gain&nbsp;further experience with GIS, learn effective ways of communicating spatial data to an&nbsp;online audience, and have the opportunity to explore special topics.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Coordinating with the Office of Community Engaged Learning, students worked with Professor Mary Ann Cunningham and the following community partners to devise a question, locate data, and <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/view\/webmappingpublic2019\/home\">created an app or story map<\/a> in ArcGIS Online.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scenichudson.org\/\">Scenic Hudson <\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/dutchessoutreach.org\/\">Dutchess Outreach<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/environmentalcooperative.vassar.edu\/\">The Environmental Cooperative at the Vassar Barns <\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/familyservicesny.org\/\">Family Services <\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/hudsonriverhousing.org\/\">Hudson River Housing <\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.midhudsonheritage.org\/\">Mid-Hudson Heritage Center <\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rebuildingtogetherdutchess.org\/\">Rebuilding Together<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_731\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/view\/webmappingpublic2019\/environmental-coop-pollinator-pathways\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-731\" class=\"wp-image-731 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/gis\/files\/2019\/05\/pok_pollinator-1024x525.jpg\" alt=\"Tree City?
