{"id":1869,"date":"2016-07-23T21:13:01","date_gmt":"2016-07-24T01:13:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/fordscholars\/?p=1869"},"modified":"2016-09-08T17:04:52","modified_gmt":"2016-09-08T21:04:52","slug":"moving-learning-teaching-a-teacher-resource-in-progress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/fordscholars\/2016\/07\/23\/moving-learning-teaching-a-teacher-resource-in-progress\/","title":{"rendered":"Moving, Learning, Teaching: A Teacher Resource in Progress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">How does the way we move our bodies influence the way we think? \u00a0This summer, I worked to answer this question, specifically as it applies to education. \u00a0Our bodies are a rich source of information that most people rarely attend to. \u00a0By listening to our bodies and learning more about our bodies\u2019 natural patterns, we can change the way we function, both in academia and beyond. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1976\" style=\"width: 228px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/fordscholars\/files\/2016\/07\/6809858230_79bdf9d716_q.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1976\" class=\" wp-image-1976\" src=\"http:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/fordscholars\/files\/2016\/07\/6809858230_79bdf9d716_q.jpg\" alt=\"Central Elementary School-105\" width=\"218\" height=\"218\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1976\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Central Elementary School-105<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Movement can help students master new material and learn greater social-emotional skills. Through the implementation of these techniques, students will become the agent of their own learning and discovery, which in turn will allow them to better self-regulate.
