{"id":259,"date":"2019-04-09T12:04:38","date_gmt":"2019-04-09T16:04:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/fdftef\/?p=259"},"modified":"2023-12-06T16:31:36","modified_gmt":"2023-12-06T21:31:36","slug":"hindenburg-for-amst-meds-381","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/fdftef\/2019\/04\/09\/hindenburg-for-amst-meds-381\/","title":{"rendered":"Hindenburg for AMST\/MEDS 381"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Awardee:<\/b> Barry Lam<\/p>\n<p><b>Semester of Award:<\/b> Spring 2018<\/p>\n<p><b>Materials Awarded:<\/b> A six-month license for Hindenburg digital audio workstation software for students of AMST\/MEDS 381.<\/p>\n<p><b>Project Description:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Students in AMST\/MEDS 381 were able to download and use Hindenburg Journalist Pro, a digital audio workstation designed for story-telling-type podcasts, for their work in the course.<\/p>\n<p>Sixteen students in the course used the software to complete every assignment from the course, which consisted of producing a series of audio journalism pieces that included interviewing, scripted narration, soundtracking, and sound design.<\/p>\n<p>Hindenburg was highly effective due to its user-friendliness compared to far more powerful but unwieldy software that employ destructive editing.
