The ornamentation that adorns his body typifies the Himalayan style, and <b>Buddha<\/b> <b>Amitabha <\/b>seated within Avalokiteshvara\u2019s crown identifies this <b><i>bodhisattva<\/i><\/b>. Despite the title Padmapani, however, the <i>bodhisattva<\/i>\u2019s key attribute is missing \u2013 his characteristic lotus flower, or <b><i>padma<\/i><\/b>. The lotus was originally on the figure\u2019s left, evidenced by an empty hand and armband that once secured the stalk. His right hand forms the teaching, or <b><i>vitarka mudra<\/i><\/b><i>, <\/i>and the <b>dharma wheel<\/b> inscribed upon his palm emphasizes his wisdom.
