We’ll be using this site for posting content we create and share forĀ EDUC 373: Adolescent Literacy (Fall 2014).
The digital storytelling class at Vassar College offers area students in grades 6 through 12 the opportunity to work one-to-one with a Vassar student to engage in digital storytelling. The Vassar students are enrolled in a class entitled, Adolescent Literacy, and they are learning how to strengthen the literacy learning of adolescents through the creation of digital texts. Most Vassar students enrolled in this class are seeking certification at the secondary level in a content area. The area students are welcome to bring homework and get help on that for the first half-hour of the class and then they will creating texts with their VC partner. They learn to write for audiences by participating in the creation of a blog, learn about text creation, editing and production through the creation of digital stories, podcasts, films, and more. The class runs from 3:30-5 and is free of charge. We ask that students make a commitment to attend each class.
