Printz Award in 2007. His other literary works include the novel\u00a0<em>Boxers and Saints,<\/em>\u00a0which explores the Boxer Rebellion in China and the<em>\u00a0<\/em>&#8220;tension between eastern as western ways of being and thinking.&#8221; Yang describes his art as a type of &#8220;self-therapy,&#8221; and claims:\u00a0&#8220;all my projects are ways of exploring my own neuroses, or the tensions within my own life.&#8221;\u00a0Yang&#8217;s most recently published graphic novel,\u00a0<em>Avatar, the Last Airbender:\u00a0The Search<\/em> is the sequel to the animated TV series\u00a0<em>Avatar: The Last Airbender\u00a0<\/em>and a prequel to the series\u00a0<em>The Legend of Korra.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Yang is also a part-time computer science teacher at a Catholic school in Oakland, CA, but has also taught math and art in the past.\u00a0His current project is a series\u00a0of graphic novels titled\u00a0<em>Secret Coders, <\/em>which he feels\u00a0&#8220;represents the coming together of [his] two worlds&#8221;.
