On this Thanksgiving Day, for some it may be hard to see what we can be thankful for in the U.S. public sphere. The New York Times <a title=\"Thanksgiving in Times of Turmoil\" href=\"http:\/\/learning.blogs.nytimes.com\/2014\/11\/20\/throwback-thursday-thanksgiving-at-times-of-national-turmoil\/\" target=\"_blank\">recently published a story<\/a>\u00a0on Thanksgiving in Times of Turmoil, highlighting the Vietnam War, 9\/11, the stock market crash of 1929, Hurricane Katrina, and other events that can overshadow our thankfulness for our health, family, and friends.
