{"id":6,"date":"2015-09-08T10:19:09","date_gmt":"2015-09-08T14:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/catchoftheday\/?page_id=6"},"modified":"2015-09-15T16:06:09","modified_gmt":"2015-09-15T20:06:09","slug":"about-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/pages.vassar.edu\/catchoftheday\/about-2\/","title":{"rendered":"About Catch of the Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Catch of the Day&#8221; is a site to collect and disseminate information regarding phishing, spam, and fraudulent emails received by Vassar College constituents. \u00a0If you receive a suspicious email, check here first! \u00a0Look at the Catch of the Day blog posts, or search for keywords that appear in the email.<\/p>\n<p>We strive to reduce the impact of these types of emails by making sure the Vassar College community can quickly recognize non-valid email communications that could lead to serious computer problems, including a large-scale compromise. \u00a0All examples that are posted on this site are actual emails received by members of our community. \u00a0To keep everyone safe, identifying information such as email addresses have been modified, and harmful links have been removed.<\/p>\n<p>Please take these important steps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you receive a suspicious email and it is already posted in &#8220;Catch of the Day&#8221;, report it as Phishing or Spam\u00a0in Google Apps for Education. \u00a0Click on the down arrow next to the reply arrow within a message to select &#8220;report spam&#8221; or &#8220;report phishing&#8221;. \u00a0The more emails that are reported, the better Google becomes in catching these messages before arriving in your inbox.<\/li>\n<li>If you do not see the questionable email posted, send it to <a href=\"mailto:catchoftheday@vassar.edu\">catchoftheday@vassar.edu<\/a>. \u00a0The site administrator will get back to you and advise on whether it is really Phishing, and will post your email on Catch of the Day within 24 hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Catch of the Day&#8221; is a site to collect and disseminate information regarding phishing, spam, and fraudulent emails received by Vassar College constituents. \u00a0If you receive a suspicious email, check here first! \u00a0Look at the Catch of the Day blog posts, or search for keywords that appear in the email.
