DESCRIPTION:Barbara Ransby\, Distinguished Professor of History\, African American\nStudies\, and Gender and Women’s Studies at the University of Illinois\nat Chicago will be delivering a lecture as part of the Social Justice\nin Question Lecture Series.  The title of her talk is “Social Justice\nand Freedom-making in the 21st Century: Lessons from Martin Luther\nKing\, Jr\, Ella Baker\, and The Black Lives Matter Movement.” \nShe is author of Ella Baker and the Black Freedom Movement: A Radical\nDemocratic Vision; Eslanda: The Large and Unconventional Life of Mrs.\nPaul Robeson; and Making All Black Lives Matter: Reimagining Freedom\nin the 21st Century. Dr. Ransby is also the President of the National\nWomen’s Studies Association.
