Since retirement at the end of January 2011, a good deal of my time has been spent on the renovation of our new residence near\u00a0Tivoli, NY,\u00a0where we moved in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In January 2011, I gave a paper at a conference in Paris that focused on the Greek and Latin Heritage in Contemporary French Literature. That led me back to some Roman poets I hadn\u2019t read since I studied Classics at the Sorbonne, way back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In March 2011, I gave a paper on the representation of animals in Claire Denis\u2019 film The Intruder<\/em> at an annual conference in 20th and 21st century French and Francophone Studies in San Francisco whose general topic was Human\/Animal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This February 2012, I\u2019m giving a presentation at a graduate seminar on emotions in literature in Bordeaux, France.
