Kevin Lee is a rising sophomore from San Francisco.\u00a0 He is currently undecided about his major, but thinks it may be Biology or Geography.\u00a0 He lives in Josselyn House and is involved with the Men\u2019s Swim Team, the Orchestra, and the Asian Students\u2019 Alliance.\u00a0 Here are his reasons for choosing Vassar, in his own words:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>I didn\u2019t know much about Vassar until about September of my senior year in high school, when my economics teacher suggested I take a look at the school.\u00a0 Coming from a large public school in California, I thought I would end up at a large state university, the norm for many students like me.\u00a0 However, I did my research\u2014I looked through the Fiske Guide <\/em>and read about the school on the Vassar website and the view book.\u00a0 As a musician, I immediately fell in love with Vassar when reading that the school had 65 Steinway grand pianos.\u00a0 This was before I had even visited campus.\u00a0 I was pretty sure that I still had a ton to learn about Vassar, but on a whim, I decided to apply Early Decision.\u00a0 It\u2019s been the best decision I\u2019ve made thus so far.\u00a0 In high school, I participated on the swim team and in orchestra.\u00a0 There was no way, I told myself, that I would be able to continue these activities in college.\u00a0 However, as I arrived on campus, I talked to the swim coach and orchestra conductor, both of whom were very reassuring, and in the end, I actually had the chance to continue both activities here at Vassar.\u00a0 I love Vassar in that it allows me to be someone and to have a face on campus, whether it\u2019s in the classroom, lab, pool, or concert hall.\u00a0 The beautiful campus and the ridiculously friendly people that roam around here have additionally made my Vassar experience very satisfying.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
