While all-campus dance parties are both frequent and popular, there has been an increase of demand for alternative programming. \u00a0This desire has not been ignored. \u00a0Vassar and Vassar students organize and offer numerous programs that provide a space for students’ to engage in substance-free fun. \u00a0Below is a list of just some of the substance-free activities that take place regularly on campus. \u00a0(Vassar also sponsors many one-time events).<\/p>\n

New board launches alternative programming initiatives<\/a><\/p>\n Other-option programming in UpCDC proves successful<\/a><\/p>\n \u00a0Student says: Because I have a chronic illness, my social life is more limited. \u00a0I often spend weekends resting and recuperating from my week. \u00a0I am not a huge party person, but I participate in campus social life less because of my health limitations than I would otherwise. \u00a0I also think Vassar is much better than other colleges about providing alternative programming entertaining, but as someone who doesn’t drink at all partly because of a disability, I sometimes feel a little awkward at events where others are drinking, even though I’ve never been pressured to drink. \u00a0Because I also need to go to bed early, I also sometimes find late-night noise on weekends to be difficult to handle when I am trying to sleep. \u00a0There have been times when noise at night has affected my ability to get to class or do work the next day.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" While all-campus dance parties are both frequent and popular, there has been an increase of demand for alternative programming. \u00a0This desire has not been ignored. \u00a0Vassar and Vassar students organize and offer numerous programs that provide a space for students’ … Continue reading
