AEO has a list of assistive technology programs and resources on their website and provided in their handbook for students registered with their office. These programs include learning software, text to speech software and assistive technology suites, voice recognition software, and other assistive technology resources. Students who are not registered with AEO do not have as much access to these services as students who are registered. However, MaryJo Cavanaugh is planning to some day make these services available to all. She would like every computer in the library and residence halls to have a couple of these programs. Currently, the writing center does have two of these programs that help with the writing process. Ms. Cavanaugh does not want these programs to be seen as assistive technology but as something that everyone has.
