It depends upon the timing of the request for the accommodation.  Students have a responsibility to make sure that they meet with professors early in the semester to discuss which accommodations they are eligible for.  However, if a student wants to tape record a class, for example, and a professor is not comfortable, it may make sense for the student to get in touch with AEO.  AEO will then have a conversation with the professor.  A student can also suggest to a professor that they talk to AEO.
