FALL 2016

The goal here is to connect current Vassar College Cross Country and Track athletes to our amazing Alumni/Parent/Family network. If you majored in similar areas, currently work in a related field, or know someone who does, we hope that you take the moment to reach out and make that connection.

We all know what it's like to not absolutely know what we'd like to do after Vassar, and a quick conversation with someone who's been there or is there now could make a big difference to our Seniors!

Please let Coach Justin (juharris@vassar.edu) know if you're interested in connecting with one of them!

Seniors Major Goals for Life after Vassar Legacy/Message to Current Team
Lucy Balcezak
Political Science, Correlate in Arabic Language and Culture
"I’m looking for a challenging career where I can learn and collaboratively apply my skills of research and critical thinking in the field of international affairs."
Molly Crowell Philosophy "I like to write and I like to scrutinize. I hope to extend those skills beyond Vassar in a field pertaining to new media or up and coming digital technologies like artificial intelligence. I want to challenge others to proceed with caution while engaging with them and note the effects they are having on our world, practically, socially, philosophically, or otherwise."
Gabe Fishman History "I want to apply my passion of running and love of being outdoors, to a career where these two things are front and center. I enjoy making strong connections with others and could easily see myself coaching, teaching, outdoor education and exploration, or anything in the general running, endurance, fitness industry where I could aptly put my passions into practice."
Alex Gittens Biochemistry "I plan to pursue a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and ultimately teach as a professor while advancing research as a medicinal chemist. I look forward to sharing my passion for chemistry with others while discovering new solutions to everyday problems."
Jemma Howlett Cognitive Studies and Religion "I love thinking and learning about the brain/mind. What is consciousness? How do people around the world think differently? What is the brain capable of? I want to find out."
Laura MacDonald Biology, Correlate in Hispanic Studies "I'm interested in the ecological side of biology, and want to work in the field doing research. I'm particularly interested in terrestrial macro biology. I would like to improve my Spanish enough that I could speak professionally about biology since many of the most biodiverse regions are in Spanish speaking countries. "
Saparja Nag Biochemistry "I'm fascinated by how the human body develops, grows, and becomes stronger over a lifetime. I'm planning on taking a year off after Vassar to work in a clinical setting working directly with patients and applying to medical school. "
Samara Roman-Holba Biochemistry "I want to do research that will show the impact of nutrition on diseases like cancer and diabetes and give people knowledge that can help them improve their overall health by improving their eating habits."
Louis Scaglione Greek and Roman Studies

Elijah Winston Physics "I plan on attending graduate school for solar engineering."
