VAST Activities: Cooking

The scholars have been cooking up a storm every Friday. Cooking is always one of VAST’s most popular activities.

First, the scholars learned knife safety skills.  They used what they learned to chop up tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and other ingredients to make salsa and guacamole. This was the first time many of the scholars tried guacamole and it was delicious. Everyone enjoyed eating homemade food.

Thank you to Gabi and Saskia who ran the Cooking Activity on Fridays. They instructed a new small group of students each Friday on how to make salsa and guacamole from scratch. Hopefully they can teach us how to make a new treat next semester.
