In an effort to support students in the Class of 2020, the Committee on Inclusion and Excellence with support from a variety of Dean of College offices are hosting the 7th year of TRANSITIONS. TRANSITIONS is a matriculation to graduation program, consisting of a pre-orientation program, for incoming first-generation, low income, and/or undocumented students. This program, now in its seventh year, was built on the thoughtful work of a group of incredible Vassar alums during their time as students. It is a collaborative labor of love between Residential Life, Campus Life, the Dean of Studies, and Admissions.

TRANSITIONS seeks to maximize your success and comfort at Vassar by:

  • Discussing academic expectations and realities before beginning the regular school year;
  • Providing a personalized overview of the campus, its resources, and its support opportunities;
  • Facilitating networking and mentoring relationships with peers, professors, and administrators;
  • Fostering community ties and relationships.
