Community Fellows

We hope to announce decisions by April 29. Thank you for your patience.

COVID-19 UPDATE: Given the current circumstances, students will intern remotely with the organizations. We’ve posted the internship descriptions as they were submitted pre-COVID. Please note that in some cases your work will evolve over the summer and may be somewhat different from the description posted.

The Community Fellows program is a unique partnership between Vassar College and local non-profit and governmental agencies in Dutchess county.

Community partners are invited to submit project proposals that address pressing social issues relevant to their organization.  Students are fully funded to work on these projects, full-time, for nine weeks over the summer. In many ways this is analogous to the Ford Scholars program and URSI. The major difference is that instead of working with a faculty member on campus, students are able to work at a non-profit organization or governmental agency.

**New in 2020: Two fully-funded positions in Nashville, TN****

The community fellows program is open to students in their freshman, sophomore, and junior years.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT? (We’re in unchartered territory this year. Together, we’ll try to make the best of it!)
