Animal Husbandry Internship for The Trevor Zoo – available Spring 2020

The Trevor Zoo at Millbrook School offers a volunteer-based learning experience for individuals who are energetic, willing to work hard, and enjoy caring for animals. Volunteers will be involved in various aspects of zoo work depending upon age and experience. (See program descriptions below.) Activities may include food preparation, cleaning of cages, helping to provide behavioral enrichment for the animals, and providing information and tours for visitors. Volunteers will be trained by the Animal Care Coordinator and Keeper Supervisor for each task they perform.

Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue

Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue is dedicated to providing a sanctuary for unwanted, abused, neglected horses and to improve the relationship between horses and people.  They are committed to raising funds to support the rescued horses in their care and will pursue the acquisition of grants, gifts, bequests and donations to support the organization.  They are a no-kill rescue striving to promote humane treatment. Their goal is to properly unite humans and horses in a safe environment, using approved methods to preserve the best equine care through informative and instructional guidance, education and administration, adhering to the understanding of the need for the preservation of rural equine communities.  They are not breed specific and promise each of their horses will never again know the abuse, neglect, abandonment or other injury that brought them to their facilities.

Center for Veterinary Care

Center for Veterinary Care is a full service animal hospitals. It is their commitment to provide quality veterinary care throughout the life of your companion animal.
