Research in the Donhauser Group is focused on characterization of materials at the nanometer scale, with a variety of projects that span the interfaces between chemistry, biology, and physics. A central expertise in the lab is in atomic force microscopy (AFM), a high resolution scanning probe microscopy that is capable of imaging and interrogating individual molecules. We couple AFM with a wide range of complementary techniques, such as optical microscopy, optical spectroscopy, and computational modeling.
