Marc Smith was elected 2012-13 chair of the CAT committee. CAT’s student member appointed from VSA has yet to be determined. We reviewed last year’s committee’s business, then discussed the issue of online learning. A faculty-student conversation on this topic has been scheduled for October 24, noon to 1:30 in the Multipurpose Room of the College Center, food to be catered. Finally, we met with Marianne Begemann, Dean of Strategic Planning and Academic Resources, to discuss the move to hire a replacement for Brett Ingerman (former vice-president of Information Services) and restructure his former position.
