“But it’s a dry heat…”

I’m new to this great state, someplace I never thought I’d live, and of course we moved here right along with a spike in humidity. I want to make my first post a refutation of the argument that Arizona’s heat is okay because it is dry. Yes, for most ranges of temperature dry can be better. However, Arizona is so hot that in the summer it is legitimately painful to be outside. I couldn’t go for walks with my son in the summer because it is 110+ degrees.

Humidity makes it sticky and gross.  Everyone sweats like a pig and it is nasty. And yet we can all stand outside to gripe about the “heat”.

Secondly (no there was no firstly), when there is a breeze and it is humid outside then it feels quite lovely. When the wind blows in Arizona heat it is similar to some jerk standing in front of you with a blow dryer in your face.  No one likes that guy.

We will see how much I miss Arizona in February.
