Non-academic Accommodations

Other accommodations include disability-related housing accommodations, meal plan accommodations, and event accommodations.  Some disability-related housing accommodations are a strobe emergency/fire alarm in a student’s room, an additional handgrip, a wheelchair accessible room, or air conditioning for respiratory disorders.  Students who receive housing accommodations will not participate in room draw and instead work with the Office of Residential Life before room draw to select a room.

In order to receive meal plan accommodations, students must have medical documentation indicating their disability and dietary needs.  Students must complete a meal plan accommodation form each year.  Following, you will meet with Maureen King, the Senior Director of Dining Services, to develop an individualized meal plan.

Event accommodations at Vassar are the responsibility of the Office of Campus Activities.  Vassar requires that all posters advertising events include the following statement: Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations or information on accessibility should contact the Office of Campus Activities at (845)- 437-5370.
